ORTHODOXY Basic

We set out to make an authentic, made-in-Japan mechanical watch—and to offer it at an honest price, as a piece you'll want to treasure for years.

That wish gave rise to the first model of Azusa ORTHODOXY, a Made-in-Japan mechanical watch. Its simple, trend-proof design stays with you across the years, quietly gathering memories with every year you wear it.

It was also engineered through an uncompromising pursuit of slimness, refined down to the finest detail. Slim yet quietly present, it offers a rich play of expression on the wrist.

From parent to child, from child to grandchild—a watch to witness life's milestones together and carry your family's story into the future.

Why ORTHODOXY Basic

A C-Type case honed for thinness

A case designed to be as thin as possible. A low bezel edge, together with a dual-curved crystal that makes room for the hands, gives it a profile even slimmer than its true dimensions. Zaratsu polishing on the bezel, an STC treatment that resists scratches and lifts the shine, and a hairline finish on the case bring crisp contrast to the play of light.

Curved hands that follow the crystal

The second and minute hands are deliberately curved to follow the domed crystal. Even the slender hands feature mirror-polished sides and a hairline-finished top, so light plays richly across them.

Ten-facet indexes that add depth

Each index is cut into ten facets to catch and throw light from every angle. Set 0.1 mm taller than usual and crowned with a hairline finish, they give the dial real depth and dimension.

An exhibition case back to watch the mechanics

A glass exhibition case back reveals the beauty of the mechanical movement as it quietly keeps time.

Accuracy regulated one watch at a time

Each movement receives additional regulation by our own watchmakers, beyond the factory-standard adjustment—holding down unit-to-unit variation for dependable, consistent accuracy.

An optional stainless-steel mesh bracelet

In addition to the standard embossed calf leather strap, a set with a supple, breathable stainless-steel mesh bracelet is also available as an option.
