ORTHODOXY KIZAMU

True to its name, ORTHODOXY KIZAMU is defined by the engraving carved into its case.

Its name comes from the Japanese verb kizamu—"to carve." To carve time. To carve a pattern. To carve a character. Built on the ORTHODOXY 2nd base model, it takes on the demanding craft of engraving directly into the case—work that calls for exceptional skill and painstaking effort. A rarity in contemporary watchmaking, this design demands numerous exacting stages and a great deal of time to complete.

The engraving draws on nindō-mon (the honeysuckle motif), a traditional Japanese pattern long used in fine arts and crafts. The dial, and the rotor glimpsed through the exhibition case back, come in three colors that mirror the nature of Azumino, Nagano—the brand's home.

Down to the finest detail, the design carries the spirit of Made in Japan, born in Nagano—a piece of singular character, imbued with Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship.

Why ORTHODOXY KIZAMU

Honeysuckle engraving, carved straight into the case

The pattern is nindō-mon (honeysuckle), a traditional Japanese motif long used in fine crafts. Carving its flowing, delicate lines directly into the case gives the watch a quiet yet commanding presence.

A generous luminous coating, easy to read at night

The hour and minute hands and the indexes carry a thick luminous coating. It glows clearly in the dark, improving legibility at night.

A colored rotor that wears the nature of Shinshu

The dial and the rotor—visible through the exhibition case back—are finished in colors drawn from the nature of Azumino, Nagano: wasabi green, springwater-and-sky blue, and Mt. Jōnen snow white. Choose the piece that carries your landscape of Shinshu.

Blued steel screws, finished where no one looks

Heating steel to grow an oxide layer creates traditional blued steel—once for rust protection, today for decoration. The blue screws glimpsed through the exhibition case back speak to the care taken in the parts you never normally see.

A PARLEY CLASSIC strap that deepens with use

The strap is a PARLEY CLASSIC strap prized for its refined luster. The more you wear it, the more the leather surface polishes naturally to a moist, deep sheen. Rather than merely aging, the leather “matures”—developing a rich patina, so the joy of ownership only deepens.

Accuracy regulated one watch at a time

Each movement receives additional regulation by our own watchmakers, beyond the factory-standard adjustment—holding down unit-to-unit variation for dependable, consistent accuracy.
